Asian Bagrid Catfish

Three Asian predatory catfish — the Asian mystic, the irwini, and the marble wallago (Wallagonia leerii) — each in Quarantined, Lightly Medicated and Non-Quarantined listings. This is a small, specialist corner of the catfish list, for people building a big Southeast Asian predator tank rather than stocking a community.

The wallago is the one to think hard about: it passes four feet, it is permanently nervous, and it will run itself into the glass in an open room. Give it a dim, heavily shaded tank with a locked lid, or skip it. All three are shy feeders on arrival, which is exactly what the quarantine program exists for — a fish that will not eat is a fish you cannot medicate later.
