Raphael & Talking Catfish

Three doradid catfish — the striped raphael, the spotted raphael and Megalodoras uranoscopus — each listed Quarantined, Lightly Medicated or Non-Quarantined. They are armored, nocturnal, and peaceful with anything too large to swallow. The name comes from stridulation: lift one and it creaks at you.

Never put a doradid in a net. The pectoral spines lock outward, serrated, and they will shred the mesh and your hand getting free — move them in a rigid container instead. Also mind the size split: both raphaels stay under eight inches, while Megalodoras keeps going past two feet and needs a tank built for it, not a 55.
