The AI HMS (Hanging Mounting System) rail system is the infrastructure that makes AI Hydra and Prime lights genuinely adjustable over an aquarium — rather than fixed-arm mounts that commit you to one height and position, the rail system lets you slide fixtures along the rail, adjust height via the hanging hardware, and reposition as the tank evolves without tools or structural modifications. It's the mounting approach AI designs around for their flagship fixtures.

Available in multiple rail lengths (48", 60", 72") to span standard aquarium footprints, with compatible hanging kits, dual-arm mounts for tanks requiring two hanging points, and fixture brackets that lock the Hydra or Prime into the rail system securely. The 60" and 72" rails ship with a $6 box surcharge due to their length requiring oversize packaging.

The HMS system is also what enables running multiple AI fixtures in a coordinated array over a single tank — two Hydra 32HDs on a 60" rail over a 48" system tank, for example, with synchronized programming through Mobius covering the full footprint evenly. If you're building a multi-fixture setup, the HMS rail is the right infrastructure to start with rather than retrofitting individual fixed mounts.
